We had a very successful weekend. Rick was able to join us for Brad's graduation on Friday. We were very proud to see Brad recognized as one of only 31 Summa Cum Laude graduates from a graduating class of 482. He successfully maintained an average of 95.5 for his four years of high school. The weather cooperated and we all enjoyed the ceremony.
On Sunday, we all attended the Kingston High School Jazz Ensemble's last performance for the year--at the Kingston Jazz Festival on the Strand. The group received a standing ovation from the audience after performing their usual best. Brad has been a member of this group for his entire four years of high school--it has been a pleasure to follow their performances and watch them grow.
After the Jazz performance, Rick returned to the house with us for a family graduation celebration.
These outings were very successful and we are starting to plan our next ones.
Thanks again for all your thoughts and prayers, Lyn

THANK YOU, ALL!
Thank you all for your kind thoughts, prayers, and contributions. We have gotten the "Go ahead" for Rick to attend Brad's graduation on Friday, so we're looking forward to that. Rick continues to work hard in his therapies and we are celebrating every little improvement we see. Stay tuned for more updates. Lyn

First Post
Rick spends each day from about 8:30 in the morning till 4:30 in the afternoon in physical and occupational therapy. In occupational therapy he is working with such tools as voice recognition software. Physical therapy is aimed at restoring strength and mobility. Rick has developed the strength and dexterity needed to pilot his wheelchair through the halls of Helen Hayes under his own power, but issues still remain with his grasp.
The first goal Rick has set for himself is to obtain a day pass on June 27th so he can attend Brad's graduation. We're all pulling for you Rick!...Mike Rice
